The Last Ride

I can't believe that the school year is already at a end. It has been a memorable one and I will never forget the opportunities that were given to me. We are seniors!! In two short weeks we will be walking the stage leaving our mark at Cal High. This year was the best one yet. Taking iQuest was one of the smartest choices I made because it has helped me so much with what I want to do later on in life. I have a solid idea of what I want to study in college and I can't wait to pursue it. Criminal Justice is what I will study in college. This major is important to me because you are able to help the community.
This past week I had to do my final iQuest presentation. I had prepared a prezi on my internship and overall I thought it had turned out really great. I was a little nervous to present in front of the class, but Mrs. Gagnon was so helpful. She was understanding that I was nervous and she walked me through the process. I think it also helped that my mom was there too. She eased my nerves. Also this past week I made the sad departure of leaving my internship. I had a amazing time there and it is a experience that I will never forget. My supervisor opened my eyes to what were the positives and negatives of going into the police force.  It got me to think about what I really want to do in life. I haven't made up my mind about it yet, but I still have a little time.
As school comes to a close, I am happy to say that I will be flying to Boise at the end of the summer to go to Boise State. I can't believe that I have finished up 12 years of school already. I can't wait to see what happens in the journey ahead and I will never forget all the memories that I have already made!

Essential Question Reflection

In doing the essential question project, I learned many great life skills. My question revolved around stress in Law Enforcement so when I was looking for information, I had to be careful in a way because anybody is able to post anything on the internet. I found great information regarding my topic and even more that looked at it in other ways. I also enjoyed making the presentation for this project because when I presented it, it will be easy for them to understand. My hopes for this project is to give people information about stress. Stress can be noticeable in everybody and there are certain affects that can make your health worse. I am really happy to have been able to do the project because I was able to get a good understanding on a topic that I was interested in.

Personality

As I took the quizzes I was very surprised with my results. I have to admit I was very happy when I saw one of the possible jobs that I want to do on the holland code quiz. My results for that quiz included:
  • Realistic: 5
  • Investigative: 4
  • Artistic: 3 *lowest

  • Social: 11 *highest
  • Enterprising: 5
  • Conventional: 7

Your Holland Codes are as follows:

Select each link to view your codes. For more jobs, go to the bottom of the page to explore your results at O*NET.

This lead me to be surprised because my social level was the highest. I thought that my investigative grade would be the highest. As I was looking at the jobs on the list, I was more than pleased to see some that I like. This included a probation officer, a drug consuler or a social worker. The other quiz; the myers briggs test, took a little more thinking and I was happy with the results that I got on that as well. They were:
ENFJ
Extravert(9%)  iNtuitive(3%)  Feeling(22%)  Judging(22%)
  • You have slight preference of Extraversion over Introversion (9%)
  • You have marginal or no preference of Intuition over Sensing (3%)
  • You have slight preference of Feeling over Thinking (22%)
ENFJ

I was really happy when they said that I was responsible. I think that I am very responsible in the fact that I do all my homework and and I like to get stuff done! I am overall happy with my quiz results. These results make me feel more confident because I am getting myself involved in the world.

What Makes Success?

Success does not come easily. Some can be born into it, but others have to work their way up to being successful. I think that the true meaning of success is being able to get where you want to be.  If you want to have a great job, or a good house you have to work your way up to it. Success doesn't happen over night.  Being successful means that you want to strive at what you do. You want to live up to your full potential. In terms of my success, I want to be able to make my parents proud. I enjoy seeing them smile when I do something great. As I grow older and come to terms with my success, I will do everything I can to strive for greatness. I want to make myself proud. I want to stick out when I am older and be different than others in a way thats positive.I want to be successful in my life. Success is something that is truly amazing when you are able to get where you wanna be.

Goals

As I was doing the goal assignment, I realized that there are a lot of things that I want to do and accomplish as I go through my life. I started off with the easy goals, that were realistic. They stated how I wanted to be successful the rest of the school and graduate high school with good grades. Others were more complex saying how I wanted to join a sorority in college and be more social with people.
This assignment really helped me because I know now what I need to do as I go forward with my life. I need to space things out, focusing on one goal at a time, rather than bunching them together. I think that bunching them together would make me stressed and cause me not to focus on my most important goals.
Some of my most important goals that I want to achieve are:
1) I plan to graduate high school with good grades and make rest of my high school year memorable.
2) In college, I want to join a sorority and move up higher into the leadership role. I love to help people when they are in need.
3) I want to be able to live in a nice house when I am older and make it a place that I love.
4) I want to experience love with someone. To be able to get married one day to my best friend.
5) I want to be able to feel comfortable with my weight and be confident with my body.
Some of these goals wont happen over night, so I know that it will take some time to take care of them. I hope that I will be able to accomplish them by the end of my life because I know that I will hard when it comes to reaching them.

Human Monsters

Human Monsters is a book about the vicious murderers dating back to the 1500's. It is written by David Everitt and includes most of the murderers background as you read about them. Be aware that you will get chills  reading this book because the background on some of these people is so dark.  I choose this book because it relates to my topic. It relates to my topic because to be in law enforcement you have to know how a killer thinks and what there motive would be when they committed the crime.
My favorite part of this book is how the author shows different type of killers. They types of crimes they commit are different and it shoes how really sick people are. My favorite person that they describe in the book is the Zodiac Killer because it happened so close to home and nobody knew who it was. He was like a ninja when he committed his crimes and was weird enough to leave notes after killing his victims. I would recommend this book to older people because I think that younger kids would be scared reading about this certain topic.
